It all started with flowers.

The Jardiniere Flowers Story really began in Manhattan when Kathie, then a horticultural and floral designer for private clientele, walked into a wholesale florist on West 28th Street. It was there that she met Vinny Colella, a second generation wholesaler who worked along side his father in the New York City flower market. Vinny's father immigrated from Italy and began what would become the family tradition of working with flowers, he himself working in the NYC flower market for over 50 years. Kathie bought roses from the Colellas that day and became engaged to Vinny 10 days later. Soon the couple began dreaming up a life in which they could build a business and a family together.

Shortly after moving up to Portsmouth from Manhattan, Kathie and Vinny began Jardiniere Flowers and haven’t stopped flowering the Seacoast they love since they opened their doors in 1993. With Kathie’s passion for cultivating both flowers and relationships, and Vinny’s knowledge of international and local flower markets, the Colellas began a tradition of floral excellence in Portsmouth while raising their two daughters and making the Seacoast their home.
